September 2026 Employee of the Month Cobern Rasnick

It is my privilege to recognize our September Employee of the Month, Cobern Rasnick.

Cobern has been a dedicated member of the Town of Jonesborough team since 2015, and throughout his years of service he has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, professionalism, and public service.

As the leader of our Wastewater Treatment Plant, Cobern’s responsibilities extend far beyond the day-to-day operation of the facility. He provides guidance to multiple wastewater crews, oversees critical infrastructure projects, assists with technology and utility operations, and serves as an invaluable resource throughout our utility departments. His willingness to share his knowledge and expertise makes him someone that employees across the organization rely on and respect. He is truly the definition of a leader.

Cobern is highly revered by both his coworkers and the public. Time and again, citizens and colleagues’ comment on his professionalism, extensive knowledge, and the positive manner in which he represents the Town of Jonesborough. No matter how busy he may be, he is always willing to take the time to answer questions, solve problems, and help others succeed.

One outstanding example of his commitment to public service occurred during the Jonesborough Community Chest’s Jonesborough 101 Program. On a Saturday, Cobern provided participants with a tour of the wastewater treatment plant. He patiently answered questions, shared his expertise, and helped residents gain a better understanding of the important work being

done behind the scenes to protect public health and the environment. Participants spoke highly of the experience and praised both his knowledge and his dedication to operating a safe, effective, and efficient wastewater system.

The qualities that define our Employee of the Month program are producing service above and beyond the norm, promoting harmony among coworkers, maintaining exemplary work standards, providing outstanding customer service, demonstrating a cooperative attitude, and serving the community. Cobern exemplifies each of these qualities every day through his leadership, his commitment to excellence, and his willingness to help others.

Cobern’s commitment to the Town of Jonesborough reflects the highest ideals of public service, professionalism, and dedication to our community. His contributions have made a lasting impact on both our organization and the citizens we serve.
