Worker I – Parks and Recreation Department
Performs responsible infrequent skilled and semiskilled or unskilled manual work tasks requiring no special training and minimal experience. This is manual labor in the performance of infrequent skilled and limited semiskilled or unskilled tasks of a physically demanding nature. The work involves performing heavy manual labor which does not require a high degree of manipulative skill or previous experience in order to do an effective job. This position is required to be monitored and trained in task requirements. As work experience is gained, employees in this class may be assigned to somewhat more difficult and responsible tasks. Employees in this class work with and around and may operate various pieces of light automotive and mechanical equipment during a minor portion of their time while monitored. The work normally is performed under close supervision; however, constant supervision is not always required for routine and repetitive tasks which can be carried on without difficulty once they are learned. Position is responsible for the maintenance of indoor and outdoor facilities, open green space, outdoor areas, athletic fields and mowing and landscaping. Employees in this class will be under the direct supervision of the department to which they are assigned. Beginning salary starting at $18.81 an hour.

Code Enforcement Officer
The Code Enforcement Officer performs professional work involving initiative-taking and reactive enforcement of Town code and ordinances throughout the Town of Jonesborough. The Officer is responsible for comprehensive coordination and administration of the code enforcement process, ensuring the safety, health, and general welfare of the community. The Code Enforcement Officer is sworn in under the Town of Jonesborough Reserve Officer Program and performs only code enforcement duties. This position is part time- 20 hours per week $25 per hour.
Mechanic
Performs skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of a large variety of automobile and equipment. The work of this class involves major repair and maintenance on cars, light and heavy trucks, tractors, emergency vehicles and specialty equipment, construction equipment and all types of diesel and gasoline driven equipment. Work assignments are received orally and in writing and will require diagnosing mechanical failure and making necessary repairs. Work is subject to review while in progress and on completion by the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor. Salary is negotiable commensurate to experience, certification(s), and/or education.
