Water Technician
Performs intermediate field clerical work in reading meters and recording consumption. The main responsibility of positions in this class is the accurate reading and recording of water consumption of utility customers. The work includes keeping records on standard forms so that billings can be made properly. Reading via the new AMR system. The programing and installation of new digital meters. Sewer Construction Supervisor
Under the supervision of the Director of Environmental Services this position plans, organizes, and supervises the work of Sewer Construction. This person performs both skilled and unskilled labor and has a knowledge and ability to operate all equipment required for sewer construction. Director of Water Treatment Plant
Performs complex professional and administrative work planning and directing the programs, activities and staff of the Water Treatment Plant. This is advanced professional administrative work in the management of the water treatment plant, intake facility, pump stations, and water storage tanks. The work involves the direction of the operation, maintenance and repair of the water treatment facilities. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Utility Manager with whom consultations are held on major questions of policy interpretation. The Director of the Water Treatment Plant directs and coordinates the work of subordinate supervisors and employees engaged in the performance of the technical and maintenance functions of the Department. Firefighter
Engages directly in fire fighting and repairs fire station and equipment; does related work as required. This employee is under the direct supervision of the Fire Lieutenant/Sergeant and the general supervision of the Fire chief. This is general duty firefighting work in combating, extinguishing, and preventing fire. The employee in this class is responsible for the protection of life and property through firefighting activities usually performed under close supervision. Work requires performance of hazardous tasks under emergency conditions, which may involve extreme exertion under such handicaps as smoke and cramped surroundings. A large part of duty time is taken up in Town-wide inspections, performing supervised training, and maintaining equipment and quarters. Work is normally performed under close supervision in accordance with well-defined procedures, and assignments are received from superiors both in firefighting and maintenance duties. The Custodian, Jackson Theatre, performs unskilled building cleaning tasks. This is repetitive manual work requiring efficient performance of simple building cleaning and maintenance duties. This is a part-time position, 25 hours per week. Beginning Salary starting at $18.26.
Wastewater Plant Operator I
Performs responsible semi-skilled work on an assigned shift; performs routine tasks in the operation of a wastewater treatment plant. This is routine but responsible plant operation work. An employee in this class is responsible for the constant operation and maintenance of the continuously operating processes during an assigned shift. The work is performed in accordance with procedures outlined by the Wastewater Director to whom unusual or emergency problems are referred. Employees in this class are under the direct supervision of the Assistant Wastewater Treatment Director and the general supervision of the Wastewater Director. Beginning Salary starting at $20.84.
