Worker I – Water
Performs responsible infrequent skilled and semiskilled or unskilled manual work tasks requiring no special training and minimal experience. This is manual labor in the performance of infrequent skilled and limited semiskilled or unskilled tasks of a physically demanding nature. The work involves performing heavy manual labor which does not require a high degree of manipulative skill or previous experience in order to do an effective job. This position is required to be monitored and trained in task requirements. As work experience is gained, employees in this class may be assigned to somewhat more difficult and responsible tasks. Employees in this class work with and around and may operate various pieces of light automotive and mechanical equipment during a minor portion of their time while monitored. The work normally is performed under close supervision; however, constant supervision is not always required for routine and repetitive tasks which can be carried on without difficulty once they are learned. Position is responsible for the maintenance of indoor and outdoor facilities, open green space, outdoor areas, athletic fields and mowing and landscaping. Employees in this class will be under the direct supervision of the department to which they are assigned. Beginning is $19.42 per hour.
Assistant Director of Wastewater
Performs difficult technical work planning and supervising the operation of the wastewater treatment plant, lift stations, collection system, and industrial pretreatment program. This position is responsible for technical and supervisory work in directing the operations and activities of the wastewater department. The work involves responsibility for directing and participating in the activities of the collection system, pumping stations, and treatment plant on an around-the-clock basis. The employee in this class exercises considerable independent judgment in scheduling and directing departmental activities. Supervision is exercised through subordinate personnel over a staff of Wastewater Plant and Collection System Operators, Laboratory, , Maintenance, Construction, and other personnel. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Director, who reviews work through conferences, evaluation of reports, and results obtained. Beginning salary starting at $60,049 annual with a range up to $67,552 depending on qualifications.
Public Safety Officer
Performs general duty police and fire protection work as a member of a combined police fire unit. This employee works under the direct supervision of the Police Sergeant and the general supervision of the Police Chief. A Public Safety Officer is assigned to a Public Safety Zone and is responsible for the rapid and efficient performance of specialized duties under emergency conditions involving personal hazard. The work is normally performed under the supervision of a superior officer, but the Public Safety Officer may frequently have to use independent discretion in emergencies. Beginning salary is $22.19 to $25.30 based on POST certification and experience. This position is a 12 hour; rotating shift.
