Jonesborough elections are held every other year with the national elections the first Tuesday of November. There are three members of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen running every two years. The Mayor runs every two years, and two of the four Aldermen are on the ballot every two years as well. Any referendums or other special votes are normally held with the city elections.
Jonesborough Town residents vote at the Jonesborough Visitor Center on Election Day. This is true whether it is a primary, Jonesborough, Washington County, State, or National election. Early voting is at the Election Commission Office in the Courthouse downtown.
Early voting normally begins fourteen (14) days before each election, and ends five (5) days before the designated Election Day.
Residents can vote absentee, and the applications and ballots are handled directly by the Washington County Election Commission.
