October 2026 Employee of the Month Chris Kudera

The October Employee of the Month is Chris Kudera, Park & Rec Director. Chris joined our team in May 2024, and he brings a tremendous amount of energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to everything he does. Since he joined the Town, Chris has worked to streamline processes, improve the appearance and operation of all the Town’s 11 parks, oversaw the addition of 2 new parks and the completion of Tiger Park and he has created programs, services and activities benefiting our entire community.

Chris does a phenomenal job partnering with other departments and organizations to make Jonesborough a better place; from partnering with the Senior Center to create Christmas a Lincoln Park, to adding a sensory egg hunt, to helping departments with technology challenges, to setting up for all Town tourism events, organizing touch football league to soccer, even being a chef for Café Connection once at the Senior Center- Chris work to bring people together and accomplish the work while stretching himself and his small team to fulfil the mission of making Jonesborough a great place to live, work and visit.

Another phenomenal job that has happened since May 2024 is the numerous improvements to Wetlands. Under Chris’ direction the team has improved the appearance, efficiency, and profitability of the park. He, also, works with Town Hall staff to make the employee parties more fun and enjoyable, especially the family Wetlands day.

In addition to all this, Chris is very financially responsible and has identified cost saving opportunities that benefit the Town as a whole which has included finding invoices with tax added and having it removed and switching the internet service to Brightridge which resulted in quite a bit of cost savings to the Town. But Chris did not just stop there, he volunteered to manage that project, projecting the savings and making the change seamless.

A fellow director that nominated Chris wrote “Perhaps one of Chris’ greatest qualities is his genuine passion for serving people with disabilities. He created the Easter event at Lincoln Park specifically for children with disabilities and developed an adaptive sports league to give children with special needs the opportunity to participate in sports. These programs demonstrate not only his creativity and leadership but his heart for others and his desire to make sure everyone in our community has opportunities to participate and feel included. Chris’ creativity, strong work ethic, fiscal responsibility, and commitment to teamwork make him a tremendous asset to the Town of Jonesborough. He is supportive of others, consistently praising his team and quick to give credit to those around him. For these reason, I believe Chris Kudera deserves being named the Employee of the Month.”

For these items listed to all the unseen things you complete on a daily basis, Chris, you deserve our October Employee of the Month award.

Congrats to Chris Kudera, the Town of Jonesborough October Employee of the Month.
