Jonesborough 5v5 Soccer Tournament at Tiger Park

The Town of Jonesborough Parks and Recreation Department is excited to partner with 5v5 Soccer to bring an action-packed one-day soccer tournament to Tiger Park on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

The tournament will take place at Tiger Park, located at 720 N. Cherokee Street in Jonesborough, and will welcome youth and adult teams from across the region for a day of fast-paced competition, skill development, and community engagement through the game of soccer.

5v5 Soccer is one of the nation’s largest small-sided soccer tournament organizations, hosting events across North America and providing players of all ages an opportunity to compete in a dynamic format that emphasizes skill development, creativity, and excitement.

Unlike traditional soccer, the 5v5 format features smaller teams and fields, creating a high-energy environment where every player is constantly involved in the action.

“Hosting this tournament is another step in our ongoing effort to build a strong soccer community in Jonesborough,” said Chris Kudera, Parks and Recreation Director for the Town of Jonesborough. “Through our new partnership with Jonesborough Soccer Association and Sporting JC, we are focused on creating opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to develop their game, build relationships, and enjoy the sport. The 5v5 format is exciting because it keeps players engaged, encourages creativity, and provides a fun environment that emphasizes both competition and development.”

The tournament aligns with the Town’s continued investment in youth soccer programming and player development opportunities. Following the recent partnership between Jonesborough Soccer Association, the Town of Jonesborough Parks and Recreation Department, and Sporting JC, local players now have access to enhanced training opportunities, coaching resources, and additional soccer events designed to strengthen the sport throughout the community.

“This event complements the vision we have for soccer in Jonesborough,” Kudera added. “Whether a player participates in our recreational league, travel soccer, or simply wants to enjoy a day of competition with friends, we want to continue creating opportunities that bring people together through the game.”
