Jonesborough 2024 Christmas Parade Information

Jonesborough is gearing up for another festive season in downtown. What better opportunity to spend time with family and friends than to grab a cup of hot chocolate, throw on mittens and hats and gather on Main Street in downtown Jonesborough to watch the annual lighted nighttime Christmas Parade. Continuing with tradition, the parade will take place on the second Saturday in December. Make plans to be a part of Jonesborough’s Annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 14th at 6pm in downtown Jonesborough.

Folks of all ages will gather along Boone and Main Streets downtown in anticipation of the arrival of floats, bands, classic cars, dancers and, of course, Santa Claus as they make their way downtown. This year’s theme is “A Nutcracker Christmas”. As one of the only nighttime parades in the area, Jonesborough takes advantage of the beautiful small-town setting in the downtown area as the setting stage for the event.

Entry deadline is Monday, December 9th. Incorporation of live music and lights is highly encouraged for all participants.

Parade Application can be found HERE

Prizes will be awarded to 4 entries.

If you have any questions about the parade or entry application, please contact Christopher Kudera at chrisk@JonesboroughTN.org.

The Town of Jonesborough’s Flag Committee invites the community to attend its 50th annual American flag retirement ceremony on Sunday, October 27th at 2:00 PM in the parking lot of Town Hall. The event will feature Dana Helvey as the keynote speaker, and Daniel Boone’s Marine Corps JROTC program will lead the flag retirement ceremony. Over 1,000 flags will be respectfully retired during this event. According to the State of Franklin Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Jonesborough is #1 in the state of Tennessee for retiring the American Flag with honor.
