PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE: Jonesborough Parks and Recreation 2026 LPRF Grant Project

The Town of Jonesborough will be hosting an in-person Public Input Meeting regarding its Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) Grant Application for improvements at Persimmon Ridge Park.
The meeting will be held at the Jonesborough Visitors Center, Wednesday, March 11th at 6 p.m. in the auditorium.
The project presentation can be found HERE
The proposed project includes comprehensive upgrades to the park’s ballfield complex, including stormwater drainage improvements to improve field conditions; demolition of outdated structures; construction of a new consolidated, ADA-compliant building with restrooms, concessions, storage, and press/score space; upgrades to existing dugouts; installation of protective knee walls and fencing improvements; and paving of the parking lot with designated ADA-accessible spaces and ADA-compliant pedestrian connections throughout the complex.
These improvements are designed to modernize aging infrastructure, enhance safety, improve accessibility for individuals of all abilities, and extend the long-term usability of one of the Town’s most heavily used recreational facilities.
Public participation is an important part of the LPRF grant process. This meeting will provide an opportunity to learn more about the proposed improvements, ask questions, and share feedback. Community input plays a vital role in strengthening the application and ensuring the project reflects the needs of Jonesborough residents.
We encourage all residents, park users, and stakeholders to attend and be part of the conversation about the future of Persimmon Ridge Park.
