Tennessee's oldest town will be celebrating Independence Day in style. Following on the heels of last year's successful event, there will be tons of fun to be had by all.

There are a couple of pre-festival events scheduled to get everyone in a "festive" mood. The first one being the Magnolia Ball scheduled for June 3. The second one is the Kickoff Dinner & Entertainment sponsored by Food City and the International Storyelling Center.

The festival will officially begin with the "Celebrating our Hometown Heritage" timeline parade. This year the parade will start in the future and go back in time to the pioneering days of Jonesborough's past.

This year's festival will be a repeat of last year's "village" theme.
